The City of Sanford Appearance Commission invites the community to the second annual “Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom,” a free evening of performances that explore the impact of slavery while celebrating the fight for freedom.

The event will feature songs from Sanford's Community Fellowship Choir and jazz standards by the North Carolina Central University Jazz Studies Collective. Rod Brower and Ray Owen with the Together-N-Unity Choir will end the evening with original song and spoken word.

The concert is free and open to all. It is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
