What is SPOGOMI?
SPOGOMI is a competitive eco-sport where teams of three (3) participants race against the clock to collect and sort litter, earning points based on type and quantity. It’s a fast-paced, team-based challenge that turns environmental action into an exciting competition!

How the Competition Works:
🌍 Preliminary Round – Richmond Hill: Compete in teams of 3 for a chance to advance!
🏆 Finals – Top Teams: The top 10 teams from each preliminary round will move on to the final showdown.
✈️ Grand Prize – Team Canada: The winning team will represent Canada in Japan in October 2025, with travel & accommodations fully covered!

I'm a minor (under 18) can I still attend?

Yes, SPOGOMI is a sport for all ages and accessibility. The only thing you would need is to have your parent/guardian to participate in your team. This way, they can travel with you to Japan when you win.

I have a lot of friends, can I switch around the team members?

No, switching team members is messy for everyone because we will need to verify your identities and rearrange the team on the day of the event.

Can a participant be on multiple team?

No, each participant can only be on one team of three. Any excess, then we would have to disqualify your submissions.

One of my teammate cannot make it last minute, can I substitute them?

Yes, you can substitute only one teammate and you would have to update your ticket on Eventbrite.

What happens if I qualify for the final but cannot go?

The grand final will take place in Toronto. Those who qualify but cannot attend the final would have to give up their spot for the next runner up. For example, the 16th place team will be notified.

I have accessibility issue, can I still participate?

Yes, SPOGOMI is a sport designed to be accessible for anyone.

What should I bring to the event?

There is not much needed. Just bring yourself, a bottle for water, and wear comfortably. Please do not bring anything you are not prepare to lose. We will have staff at the venue but we are not responsible for any missing articles.
